Academic Education
- In 1974 he graduated from the Scuola Normale in Pisa.
- In 1978 he specialised in Neurosurgery.
Professional Training
- From 1978 to mid-1993, he worked at the Neurosurgery Clinic in Pescara, where he devoted himself to experimental microneurosurgery and basic neurosurgical pathology.
- From 1983 to 1993 he worked as an adjunct professor at the University of Chieti.
- In 1986, he was awarded the National Certificate of Eligibility as Chief of Hospital Neurosurgery.
- From 1998 to 2002, he became Head of Highly Professional Position, type C2, ‘Organisation of Spinal Surgery’ at the UO 1 of the Azienda Ospedaliera Pisana.
- From 2000 to 2008 he worked as an Adjunct Professor at the School of Specialisation in Neurosurgery at the University of Pisa (Reconstructive Spinal Surgery).
- From 2002 to 2004, he became Head of Highly Professional Appointment, type C2, ‘Neurosurgery of the Spinal Cord’ at the UO 1 of the Azienda Ospedaliera Pisana.
- From 2004 to 2008, he directed an in-house ‘Endocrine Neurosurgery’ section at the complex UO 1 of the Azienda Ospedaliera-Universitaria Pisana.
- From 2005 to 2008, he worked as an Adjunct Professor of Neurosurgery for the School of Specialisation in Psychiatry in Pisa.
- From 2008 to the present Dr Acerbi has continued his work at the San Rossore Medical Centre.
