Alzheimer’s disease (senile dementia)

Alzheimer’s is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects the brain, causing deterioration of memory, thinking and cognitive abilities. It is the most common form of dementia and mainly affects the elderly. Symptoms include confusion, communication difficulties, judgment problems and behavioral changes. It has no definitive cure, but treatment aims to manage the symptoms and slow the progression of the disease.
