Aneurysm

An aneurysm is an abnormal, localized dilatation of a blood vessel, often caused by weakness of the vessel walls. This dilatation can become dangerous if the vessel ruptures, causing internal bleeding. Aneurysms can occur in several vessels in the body, but are often associated with the aorta in the abdomen or brain.
