Cardiac arrhythmias
A cardiac arrhythmia is an abnormality of the natural rhythm of the heartbeat. It can result in beats that are too fast (tachycardia), too slow (bradycardia) or irregular. Arrhythmias can be caused by electrical problems in the heart or by external factors such as stress. Some are harmless, while others can cause serious symptoms or problems if left untreated.
