Arteriopathy obliterans (or peripheral arterial disease) is a condition in which the arteries that carry blood to the extremities of the body narrow or become occluded due to the accumulation of fatty plaques and calcium. This can restrict blood flow and cause symptoms such as leg pain during physical activity or skin ulcers.
