Academic Education

In 1981 he graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pisa.
In 1981 he qualified as a Medical Surgeon following a State Examination taken at the University of Pisa.
In 1981, he took the State Examination and qualified as a surgeon.
In 1986, he specialised in Orthopaedics and Traumatology at the University of Pisa’s School of Specialisation in Orthopaedics and Traumatology.
In 1991, he obtained a PhD in ‘Clinic and pathophysiology of the organs of movement’ from the University of Rome Tor Vergata.

From 1989 to 1990 he served as Assistant Orthopaedic Physician at the USL 12 Orthopaedic Clinic of the University of Pisa.
In 1991, he served as Orthopaedic Medical Assistant at the USL 12 Orthopaedic Clinic of the University of Pisa.
From 1991 to 1994, he served as Assistant Orthopaedic Physician at the USL 12 Orthopaedic Clinic in Pisa.
From 1995 to 2018, he served as medical director level 2 at the Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Pisana.
