Eating behavior disorders

Eating Behavior Disorders (EBD) or eating disorders are disorders characterized by altered eating behaviors and habits and excessive preoccupation with weight and body shape.
Major eating disorders-anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED) and eating disorders not otherwise specified-are one of the most common health problems among young people in our country, with a higher prevalence in the female gender.
National and international guidelines indicate for these diseases the need to carry out the diagnosis and treatment activities in integrated multi-professional team with the collaboration of specialists with specific training and experience in the clinical field (physician, psychiatrist, dietitian, psychologist) for an advanced approach that, depending on the need, together with nutritional intervention, allows different treatment modalities and pathways.
