- In 2007, he specialised in General Surgery at the University of Pisa’s School of General Surgery.
What the doctor deals with
He is an expert in minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery, liver transplant surgery and was a student and collaborator of Prof. Franco Filipponi. He deals with diagnostic and interventional abdominal ultrasound and intraoperative hepatic ultrasound applied to new treatment strategies for liver metastases. It also deals with new technologies applied to oncological surgical activities.
It deals with care and treatment pathways for hepatocarcinoma and cancers of the liver, pancreas and biliary tract. He also deals with the treatment of tumours of the digestive system (gastro-intestinal and colorectal cancers) and the surgical treatment of liver metastases.

In 2020, he obtained by public competition eligibility as head of the Complex Operative Unit of General Surgery.

He is the author and co-author of numerous publications in prestigious international scientific journals and at national and international congresses.
