Curriculum


Academic Education

  • In 1992, he graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pisa.
  • In 1998, he specialised in Hand Surgery at the University of Florence.
  • In 2006, he specialised in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Parma.

Professional Training

  • From 1993 to 1999, he worked in the Emergency Room in constant attendance of the Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery O.U. at Pisa Hospital.
  • From 1998 to 2000, he worked on the GRIP project (An integrated system for neuroelectric control of grasp indisabled persons, #26322), approved and financed by the European Community’s ESPRIT IV programme and coordinated by the Scuola Superiore S. Anna in Pisa.
  • In the same years, he collaborated on the INTER project (Intelligent Neural InTERface, #8897).
  • From 1999 to 2013 he held the position of Medical Director at the U.O. Hand Surgery and Reconstructive Microsurgery of the Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Pisana.
  • From 2001 to 2011, he collaborated with the INAIL Motor Re-education Centre in Volterra (PI) through periodic examinations of patients injured in the upper limbs and subsequent surgical treatment of the outcomes.
  • From 2004 to 2005, he collaborated with the Istituto per Neurolesi ‘San Raffaele’ in Ceglie (BR) in functional surgery on myelolysis patients.
