Academic Education

  • In 2015, he graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Bologna.
  • He specialised in Orthopaedics and Traumatology at the University of Bologna.
  • He held a Fellowship at the Elios Endo-Klinic, Hamburg (Germany).
  • He carried out a Fellowship in Sports Medicine-Arthroscopic Surgery of the Hip, Knee and Ankle, at the Sports Medicine Service Department, Beijing Jishuitan Hospital, Beijing (China), participating in clinical research projects concerning the treatment of complex multi-ligament knee injuries.

During his time at the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute, he participated in numerous research projects concerning anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, the treatment of meniscal injuries and the application of computer-assisted technologies to prosthetic surgery.

The various research activities carried out in Italy and abroad include:

  • Dal 2012 collabora al Progetto di Ricerca Finalizzata “Ricostruzione del Legamento Crociato Anteriore: modellazione biomeccanica per la selezione del trattamento per prevenire l’osteoartrite”.
    Since 2014, he has been leading research activities for the clinical part of the Young Researchers Project ‘Multi-Scale Modeling for Predictive Characterization of Ligaments and Grafts Behavior in ACL Reconstruction’.
  • Since 2011, he has been collaborating on the project ‘Prospective randomised double-blind multi-centre clinical trial to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the Z-Lig™ medical device compared to allergenic graft for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction’.

He has participated as moderator or speaker at numerous national and international congresses and theoretical-practical courses.
