Academic Education
- In 1975, Dr Bonuccelli graduated in Medicine and Surgery.
- In 1979 he specialised in Neurology at the University of Pisa.
- In 1989, he specialised in Pharmacology at the University of Cagliari.
Professional Training
- Since 1979 he has been Medical Director of Neurology at the University of Pisa Neurological Clinic.
- He has been Associate Professor of Neurology since 1992.
- Since 2001 he has been Director of the Neurology Unit of the Versilia Hospital.
- Full Professor of Neurology at the University of Pisa since 2007.
- Since 2011, he has been Director of the Neurology Unit of the Azienda Ospedaliera Pisana and of the School of Specialisation in Neurology at the University of Pisa.
- From 2016 to 2020, he was Director of the Integrated Care Department of Medical Specialties at the University Hospital of Pisa.
- Since 2021 he has been an adjunct professor of Neurology at the International University of Health Sciences at UNICAMILLUS, Rome.

- Since 1989 he has been a Corresponding Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology.
- From 1996 to 1997 he was President of the European Society for Clinical Neuropharmacology.
- From 2004 to 2005 he was President of the Movement Disorders and Parkinson’s Disease Association (DISMOV-SIN)
- From 2010 to 2011 he was President Italian Parkinson’s League LIMPE
- Since 2017, he has been coordinator of the SIN study group ‘Neuropsychiatric Disorders’.
