Diverticulosis and diverticulitis

Diverticulosis is a condition in which small sacs (diverticula) form in the colon wall, often caused by a low-fiber lifestyle. Diverticulitis is the inflammation or infection of these diverticula. Symptoms can range from asymptomatic diverticulosis to severe diverticulitis with abdominal pain, fever, nausea and, in severe cases, intestinal perforation.
