Venous thrombosis

Venous thrombosis is the formation of a blood clot in a vein, often in the legs (deep vein thrombosis) or lungs (pulmonary embolism). It can cause swelling, pain, redness and, if left untreated, can lead to serious complications such as pulmonary embolism.
